1. Arrange 4 spokes in a cross.
2. Using a long weaver, doubled over, placing one side on top of the 2 spokes, one underneath. (2)
3. Continue for several rows twining the front weaver over and behind and pulling the back weaver down in front. (3)
4. Spread spokes evenly, and continue twining until the base is about 3 inches across. (4)
5. Turn the spokes up from the base to form the sides of the basket. Be sure spokes are wet, so they will not crack.
6. Continuing twining, pulling the sides even.
7. To add new weavers insert end of new weaver alongside a spoke and continue.
8. To end a weaver: cut end of weaver on a slant, with stick end down beside a spoke (6).
9. To finish spokes, start with any spoke, carry it toward inside of basket, behind one spoke at the right, then outside and pull it down. Repeat this step with each spoke in turn, until the last spoke which you will thread through to match the others.
